BMGT 1040 PMP Exam Prep (40.0 hours/$900.00)

This course is a PMBOK-oriented exam review course, emphasizing PMBOK knowledge only, structured around the 9 knowledge areas of the PMBOK, and focused on exactly what is necessary to pass the exam.

The course will start off with an overview of the PMP Exam including how to apply, eligibility criteria, and scheduling the actual test. The class will then focus on definitions and formulas in addition to addressing all the processes and knowledge areas covered on the exam.

Practice questions from each section and exam strategies will be covered as well. Considerable practice and preparation outside of the class is necessary to successfully pass the PMP exam.

This course is strictly PMP examination preparation. Students should see www.pmi.org for the PMP examination requirements.

Prerequisites: BMGT 1023-IT Project Management, a process-oriented PM course or equivalent. Students who are uncertain about their preparedness for the PMP Exam Prep course can take a self evaluation test provided by ACC. See coordinator for details.

Books are purchased separately from the Rio Grande Campus bookstore, 512.474.2607. Each class requires a book.

ITSC 1018 - MCTS Microsoft Project (21.0 hours/$566.00)

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to build, maintain, and control well-formed project plans. This is the first course in the Microsoft Office Project 2010 Official Curriculum series and serves as the entry point for other Microsoft Official Curriculum (MOC) courses covering Microsoft Office Project 2010 and the Microsoft Enterprise Project Management (EPM) 2010 Solution.

The course will start with the basics and go to an advanced level to help you prepare for the Microsoft Exam 70-178). Prerequisites: Basic experience using Microsoft Office Project (any version) to create project schedules & fundamental knowledge of project management.
